A three-judge panel that was appointed by the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals heard arguments on Monday afternoon on a motion to dismiss the case of Kevin B. Wade against McDowell County Magistrate Steve L. Cox. The panel convened the hearing in the courtroom of McDowell County Circuit Court Judge Booker T. Stephens.

PRINCETON — A former Mercer County teacher facing multiple charges related to alleged sexual relationships with several PikeView High School students pleaded guilty Monday to sexual abuse by a guardian and the distribution of obscene material.
Truck goes over embankment in Bluefield

A driver was injured after his truck plunged 25 yards down an embankment. It happened on Stoney Ridge Road in Bluefield, West Virginia Wednesday night. The truck was flipped on its top. EMS, firefighters and police had to break a window to get the driver out of the vehicle. He suffered injuries that do not appear to be life threatening. The driver was transported to a local hospital.

Michael Harshaw, 38, of Hinton, West Virginia appeared before United States District Judge Irene C. Berger on drug charges in federal court in Beckley.Harshaw was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to setting up a transaction to distribute five oxycodone pills to a police informant in October of 2012. Arbogast pleads guilty to heroin charges

Tiffany Arbogast, 24, of Lewisburg, West Virginia appeared in federal court in Beckley Wednesday to plead guilty to distributing heroin to an informant in December of 2012. Arbogast also admitted that she had distributed between five and ten grams of heroin over a period of time. She faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1,000,000 when she is sentenced in October.
